As the summer season will soon come to an end, I’m anticipating the arrival of the hottest fall styles to hit the shelves. Bottega Veneta is ahead of the game with this perfect fall handbag, the Metallic Leather Shopper Bag. This beauty is fall/winter friendly with its shade of glimmery metallic gold that’s versatility can pretty much be carried year round. This would make the perfect accessory for your browns and blacks and of course, those holiday shades of red you’ll soon add to your wardrobe. I was surprised to see this and one other Bottega bag lack the infamous Veneta pattern of woven rich leather, since the weaves stay among all of the brands leather goods. But this time around, wave seams were made for a change, and frankly, I think they look great.I absolutely like everything from the oversized dimensions of this tote bag to the double leather and chain link straps on this piece, and the finishing touches of suede lining to the metal feet to protect this baby are all great. When I was a little girl, I just loved Tootsie Rolls. I remember my brother liking the Tootsie Pops better, but I preferred the candy in its traditional form. At first glance, this bag didn’t appeal to me very much. But then I saw what it looked like when you use the long strap! The top half of this Tootsie Roll folds over and the bag becomes a crescent shape (as opposed to a circle shape). It really is adorable! But if you’re looking for something unique, simply carry it using the chain handles. What do you know? That’s two bags in one! Plus the leather just looks so yummy on these bags. I currently don’t own any Dolce & Gabbana handbags, but I’ve always loved them. Dolce & Gabbana handbags are always classy, fabulous, and very expensive.My favorite Dolce & Gabbana bag at the moment is the “Miss Sicily Leather Bag.” It kind of reminded me of the Fendi “Peek-A-Boo” bag, which I’ve loved ever since I laid eyes on it.This bag is a great everyday, sophisticated bag. I could totally envision a doctor, lawyer, or some type of business woman carrying this bag around. To me, this bag screams professional. I would expect to see this bag on a desk in an office, or having a woman in a suit holding it.At the same time though, I can see a fashionista sporting this bag around too. This is a bag that I could see myself using when I’m well put together, or put a lot of thought into my outfit. To me, this bag is way too fancy looking to go with the whole casual look but of course that’s just my opinion.The only thing I don’t like about this bag is the front flap closure. By looking at this bag with that type of handle, I would of thought it opened and closed at the top. Having a flap seems odd to me for this type of bag. The bag is on the small side, so why not have it open on the top for easier access? The bigger version of this bag does open on the top, which seems like the smarter way to open and close this bag. Other than that, this is one fabulous bag!The Dolce & Gabbana “Miss Sicily Leather Bag” can be purchased at Nordstrom for $1,895. Michael Kors has released quite a few new handbags, and one of them is the MICHAEL Michael Kors “North/South Joplin” Tote. Don’t be fooled though, the “Joplin” handbag collection is not a new collection to Michael Kors. In fact, this same bag was available in black about a year or so ago. Even then, I thought it was gorgeous but I wasn’t able to get myself one. To see Michael Kors re-release this collection in different colors brought a smile to my face!I’m kind of happy this bag is currently not available in black. I always lean towards purchasing black bags, so if I really want the “Joplin” tote this time around I have to pick a different color or pass on it again. I’m not one for anything blue, but I’m obsessed with this handbag in navy blue. Lately, we’ve been seeing a nautical trend hit the fashion scene and navy blue compliments it well.The gold tone hardware looks beautiful on the navy blue leather and the shoulder strap adds to the beauty of the bag. From a distance, it might be difficult to distinguish that the material of choice is in fact leather throughout, from the clinched drawstrings to the exterior shopper. Besides its quality, another reasonable feature to hike up the price on a luxury good is based on craftsmanship, and this bag has a bit more labor work to it than the usual, as the floral details found on this shopper are actually hand painted. I love the concept, even though this Dolce & Gabbana seems a bit too high maintenance for my lifestyle. Without any aid from its description I would have never guessed that this piece is in fact by Tory Burch. What did I tell you? Tribal handbags are hot and they are turning up everywhere! So it is definitely not too late to grab yourself a fun and festive piece for the upcoming summer season! These bags are from the Wayuu Taya Foundation, a non-profit organization that is working to improve the lives of Latin-American indigenous people. Their primary concerns are extreme poverty, malnutrition, high child mortality rates, waterborne diseases, and educational deficiencies. Their mission is to help these communities while maintaining and respecting their beliefs, traditions, and culture. Their bags are made by Wayuu indigenous women at the foundation’s women center that educates women on parenting, family planning, nutrition, and hygiene. All proceeds go toward helping the foundation achieve their mission.What I like about these bags is that they are bright and colorful. I love the woven design on the strap. Plus the free ends were left hanging at the ends of the strap creating a nice little rainbow of fringe. The drawstring pouch styling is super cute and perfect for those casual summer days. Pair this bag with a solid color maxi dress for the perfect look!

I’m so glad that the big handbag trend is over! I guess I’m just such a minimal bag person, don’t really need to carry everything with me while out and about running errands or grabbing drinks with friends. A gorgeous continental wallet is all that I really need. One of my favorites is Tory Burch’s Audra. It’s sleek and simple and topped off with Tory Burch’s signature charm detail, which I absolutely love.The only problem that I have with continental wallets is that most of the time they come with so many card slots – this one comes with 10. It’s insane, who has that many cards? I only carry 4 cards with me, max – ID, health insurance card, and two bank debit cards. Not really any need for so many slots. Of course I could always go for a smaller wallet, but I don’t like the look of those. I remember when tying a scarf onto your handbag was all the rage! The perfect accessory to accent your perfect bag! But it seems like this trend has faded a little bit. I don’t see people tying scarves onto their handbags nearly as often. Is it not cool anymore? Personally, I really like the look! So if it’s not considered cool anymore, then it certainly should be! Maybe the look just needs a little updating. I think it was this idea that attracted me to the Maddalena Marconi Suede Top Handle Bag!Here we have a simple suede hobo, perfect for everyday use. It is accented with a scarf shoulder strap, complete with beads and other cute little doodads.  I don’t go to the beach very often, as it’s way too hot in Miami to the point you can barely breathe, but when I do I try to go as stylish as possible. I’ve been looking to purchase a new handbag. As usual, I’m looking for a black leather handbag with gold hardware. This has been my go to style for handbags in the past 2 years or so, which is not refreshing feeling. In the past 4 years, I have seriously splurged on Louis Vuitton handbags and now I don’t use them at all. What a waste of money!I currently love the classic and simple style handbags. My style in clothes and shoes is changing to a more grownup and classy look. In my opinion, nothing completes a classy outfit more than a stunning handbag.When I saw the Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic “Francesca” Tote, I was instantly in love. The price set me back a little, but it was everything I wanted in a handbag. It’s simple, gorgeous and can go with just about everything. It’s also one of those bags that you can use all year long, which is always a good thing especially in a recession. The more you can use a bag, the more worth the money it is!The bag does come with a detachable shoulder strap, which I think is completely unnecessary. In my opinion, the handbag looks fabulous carried by the handles but as well all know I’ve never been a fan of shoulder straps. I’m sure it comes as no surprise when I say I love black and white fashion. Accessories, shoes, handbags & clothes, if it’s black and white I most likely will love it. Winter has just begun, but the fashion world is already thinking about spring. Every year, it seems there is a new IT color. For Spring 2012, I’m going to guess that color is Lemon Yellow! Why? My first clue was the fact that online shops are already littered with this sunny hue. Clothing, shoes, accessories… you name it. I’m not sure if I would be daring enough to wear a dress in this color. However, I do happen to think it looks dashing on a handbag. In fact, I have a Treesje Mini Asher in Lemon and I absolutely adore it. It’s bright, fun, and adds a little pop to those dreary winter months. Plus it looks so cheery with more colorful pieces during the spring and summer! So it looks like I’ll be carrying that bag with pride this year, even though it has already been well loved! I would say for the past three years or so, everything I’ve purchased or worn has been black and white. To me, those two colors are very classy together however it’s made my wardrobe kind of bland. Rebecca Minkoff never ceases to amaze me. The woman has been on fire lately with her designs and I’m absolutely loving one of her latest. The “Cheetah” Mini Affair Bag is adorable and definitely something I’d sport around for Spring.The funny part is, I’ve never been one into animal prints. In fact, I despise them. Animal prints have just never been my thing. I have a pair of leopard print high heels I bought about four years ago, and I still have yet to wear them! However, the “Cheetah” is an accessory I’d buy in a heart beat if I could.What I love about this bag, is that if the description didn’t in fact say “Cheetah-print” I would probably have never have guessed it was. Michael Kors Fall 2007

I had lunch with Michael Kors and his mother Joan a couple of years ago and they were two of the nicest and funniest people I’d ever had the pleasure of meeting so you can imagine how it pains me everytime Kelly or I rag on his bags.  We’ve always loved his clothes, however, and I look forward to it each season.  When I viewed the pieces he sent down the runway this morning, I immediately recognized his muse for Fall 2007 as none other than Joan, his mother.  If you’ve ever met her, you too would spot the big black sunglasses, diva style wrapped hair, coats trimmed with fur, and ladylike bags as pure Joan.  This fall, he continues his love affair with fluid lines and sensual dresses, but the ingenue ballerina looks from Spring have been replaced by seductive femme fatales, whom we all know have more fun.  When I asked Michael the secret to timeless style he said to find a look that is most flattering, and to stick with it regardless of trend.  For him, it is his signature aviator glasses and white jeans, a look he has embraced for decades.  For me, it is my collection of figure hugging dresses and I can’t wait to add this gray wrapped jersey dress to my collection.

Naomi Campbell’s Sanitation Style

Naomi Campbell, sentenced to 5 days of community service last week at the Department of Sanitation in NYC for beating her maid, carefully orchestrated daily outfits to maximize the PR exposure this opportunity offered her.  The world watched with fascination as she showed up day after day in furs, diamonds, spike heels, and designer bags.  She even ordered a sanitation cop to carry her crocodile bag on day 2~Now is this not the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever seen?   (nice to know our tax dollars are being put to good use!)  Campbell ended the week with a silver couture gown, sashaying to her matching silver rolls royce as if she were on a catwalk.  She redeemed herself slightly after apologizing to Lt. May 3rd UPDATE: We have just been notified by the Anya Hindmarch team that after another sell-out launch in London through Sainsbury’s supermarket the online pre-order will be delayed. Originally the official US launch date for online pre-orders was 7th of May but this is going to be delayed due to the overwhelming reaction and response to the bags. This is called the Morning After Bag for I guess the practical aspect of this bag being able to go from day to night and back to day again (but do you take this bag out knowing you will be doing the walk of shame? Cuz if you knew, wouldn’t you prepare for or avoid it?). This good size carry-all is a little bit downtown with the gold chain and hardware but is appropriate for the office. I like the flap pocket and of course you faithful readers out there know that I love this Navy. The leather is really soft so the bag slouches when carrying it, giving it life and character. It’s a hit with celebs, as seen here with Hayden Panettiere (now that Tina knows who she is). Their fall line launches at the end of June with a huge party thrown by Bijou Phillips (ok, now it’s my turn to be ignorant but I am not really sure who she is, even after I IMDB’d her). The Morning After Bag returns in fresh colors, like Tomato which I am crazy about. This bag is exactly the type of steal that you frugal snobs ask me for often. A basic to tote around diapers, work files, gym clothes and everything in between.
